Grayton Beach

The peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and the ability to take your vehicle out onto the quiet beaches for some serious summer fun! A laidback lifestyle has created a Grayton Beach Florida community that's surrounded by natural beauty and outstanding modern amenities. I’ve affectionately dubbed it where Haight Asbury meets the beach for its funky eclectic vibe.

Watch the sunrise over the sugar white sands, hike through the state park, spend days visiting local shops and boutiques, and evenings enjoying music at AJs. Sunday Brunch at Red Bar is not to be missed and if you want a good spot to park any sunny day in summer, you better get there early to claim your spot on the area’s only beaches with permitted driving access.

Named the most beautiful beach in America by Dr. Beach in 2020, you can get your fill of the beach and outdoors in Grayton with the only vehicle beach access on 30A (Permit Required.) While you are waiting for a table at Red Bar, check out the Zoo Gallery or grab a drink at Chiringo. Don’t miss getting a tee shirt from the gift shop for Red Bar or people may not believe you came. Local fun fact: Grayton is home to the area’s oldest house. Captain Charles Gray constructed “Wash-a-Way” almost 140 years ago in the 1890s.

Take a quick drive heading north on 283 and hit the Shops of Grayton. One of my personal favorites is my friend Susie Bettenhousen’s Studio Gallery where you can enjoy art from a variety of local artists including her personal works. After all, do you have a Susie? I do or two!

How about exploring North America’s first Underwater Museum of Art? The first of its kind, the snorkel reefs are shaped like marine life including a dolphin, grouper, turtle, and even a seahorse. The grouper is located in Grayton. You can find the dolphin in Miramar Beach, the seahorse in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, and the grouper is on the east end in Inlet Beach. Located only 250-300 feet from the beach, snorkelers and divers alike enjoy the beautiful turquoise waters of the gulf with an entirely new perspective.

Offshore fishing launches directly from the beach in Grayton, the only location along 30a with driving privileges to the lucky few with permits. Fish On Charters is a local fave, with Captain Jimbo who has been fishing these waters for decades.
